Peak Journal highlights creative people who perform at the peak of their industry—from designers to chefs, photographers, authors, and more.
Each edition consists of a series of interviews focusing around what makes them successful, regardless of the industry. The interviews are intended to provide readers with a general understanding of how each person got to where they are today. Those stores provide the reader with lessons and advice that can be applied to their own creative professions and passions.
100 Word Summary
Peak Journal was a project developed during a typography course in graduate school at NC State. We were tasked to create a publication regarding any topic of our choice. Our one constraint was to avoid images and focus on the typography — so I needed to find different ways to fill the spreads and move the reader through the information. I wanted it to feel professional but engaging. The publication is intended to be quarterly with each year being a unique color. Then, each quarter would have a different shade of the yearly color to create a gradient for long-term collectors.
